Description 

The Level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (RQF) offers learners a thorough understanding of health and safety principles and outlines effective management strategies. This course is primarily aimed at supervisors, managers and individuals preparing to take on health and safety roles within the workplace. This course provides delegates with an understanding of current health and safety rules and regulations and explains the  responsibilities of both the employer and employees.

Delegates will also learn how to deal with reporting of any accidents or incidents, should they occur. This level 3  qualification is aimed at learners in a variety of work environments and will develop awareness of health and safety within an organisation. The qualification provides learners with essential knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace under UK health and safety legislation and is also an ideal platform to higher level training or career development.

Duration

The minimum classroom contact time of 18 hours should be delivered over a minimum of three consecutive or non-consecutive days. The class ratio for this qualification is a maximum of 16 learners to 1 Trainer/Assessor.

Assessment

The qualification is assessed by a written assessment. A learner must successfully pass the written assessment to achieve the qualification. There is no grading of the assessment; learners pass or are referred. The learner will complete a written assessment paper containing open and/or multiple choice questions .

Certification

Level 3 Health and Safety in the Workplace (RQF) certificates for the successful delegates will be issued in pdf format.  The qualification does not have an expiry date but refresher training and keeping up to date with changes to policies, procedures and new legislation through ongoing CPD is vital.

Important Information

Please note that the candidates should have satisfactory English literacy and numeracy skills to understand the course and to complete any assessments.

Please also note that  ID will need to be checked at the outset of the course for candidate verification process.

• The training room should be quiet and of appropriate size.
• Staff should be off work and not expected to be on duty.
• Staff attending should remain on the course for the entire duration of the training course.
